Data and Analytics in Real Estate - The game changer?

Data and Analytics are fast becoming one of the most pivotal areas for decision making insight in Business.
This trend will continue to become even more relevant and important and figure at an increasingly higher profile within Corporate Real Estate over the next three years as an increasing number of organisations realise how more effective their business functions can become with data and analytics information embedded throughout their real estate processes.
Real estate data and analytics can help you manage operations, reduce key areas of consumption and improve productivity.
A recent survey conducted by a leading and respected consultancy revealed that an overwhelming majority of CRE executives see the importance of adopting and using data and analytics. They see that it will be the catalyst for effective occupancy and ongoing property strategy. There was a clear consensus that this was an area that had to be capitalised upon, a ‘game changer’.
One of the biggest barriers to adopting an effective data and analysis strategy is the difficulty in locating suitable talent.
Up to 70% of CRE executives raised this issue as a block to providing effective data and analytics strategies especially as information requirements become more sophisticated and advanced. Having the right skills and attributes was highlighted as key.
Numerous reports have identified a severe shortage in the supply of data and analytics talent.
The demand and competition for talent within data and analytics is intense as demand is 'cross industry'. This makes it even more crucial to have a clear resourcing strategy in place – how do you build your team and capability?
